The Barbershop crew is back at it again with another hilarious comedy called Barbershop: The Next Cut. Executive producers Malcolm D. Lee, Becki Cross Trujillo and Ronald G. Muhammed team up bringing us another amazing movie. Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Eve, JB Smoove, Lamorne Morris, Sean Patrick Thomas, Tyga, Deon Cole, Common and Nicki Minaj all star in this Warner bros. Pictures film.
We join the group 10 years later where Calvin (Ice Cube) and Eddie (Cedric the Entertainer) are still giving out fresh cuts. Some things haven’t changed. The barbers are still a tight knitted group almost like family. This time the shop’s family has expanded. It’s always been a place to getaway, joke around and get the latest gossip, but now there’s a new element. The barbershop has become co-ed. Having a blend of women and men in the shop brings new dynamics as they come with their own drama, experiences and gossip. The once male-dominated crew is forced to adjust to the new changes and there are some clashes. But in the end they are forced to come together for the greater good.
Just like in the previous two Barbershop movies, the fight to keep the business open is still alive. This time there are also new issues facing the barbers. While a lot of fun and good times happen inside the shop, there are more issues arising in the community. On a mission to save the shop and the streets the team pulls together. Follow Calvin, Eddie and the rest of the gang as they set out on a plan to make positive changes in their neighborhood.
This outstanding film directed by Malcolm D. Lee will have you on the edge of your seat with laughter, emotion and compassion.
Barbershop 3 was developed from a screenplay by Kenya Barris (“Black-ish”) & Tracy Oliver (“The Neighbors”) and based on characters created by Mark Brown. With the same producers of Barbershop 1 and 2, Robert Teitel, George L. Tillman and Ice Cube, Barbershop: The Next Cut is set to hit theaters April 15, 2016.
