This Saturday Night The Museum of Pop Culture (MoPOP) will be hosting its annual Through the Eyes of Art for the 10th year in a row. This celebration of Black History Month will feature artists, community leaders, and tastemakers coming together to honor Black style.
Kahlana Barfield Brown will be the featured guest at the event. She is a Garfield High School graduate who was previously an editor at Instyle Magazine and currently has a nationwide fashion line with Target. She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
The fashion portion of the event will feature designs from six Black fashion designers from the Northwest. These designers will focus on the Brilliance which is Black Style. It is well known that Black Design from Tribal Patterns to NYC Streetwear has contributed to the culture globally and continues to do so today.
