Over this past weekend, I had the pleasure of checking out Lil Woody’s Burgers and Shakes! Home to some of the best burger creations in the Pacific Northwest. From the wonderful mind of Marcus Lalario, in 2011, he had the idea to open up a burger spot. But not just any burger shop, something for every creative mind. With inspiration from small burger spots all over the country when working with music, Lalario was able to come up with the idea to showcase creativity and amazing taste buds. This idea took off and welcomed four locations all over with currently serving in Cap Hill, White Center, T-Mobile Park, and Ballard. With Ballard being its first location and blossoming into a well-known community. I got the honor of checking out their White Center location and let me just start by saying, it felt homely.
When I walked into the White Center location, I was welcomed by an all-female crew greeting me with beautiful smiles. The music in this location was a mixture of some Latin with a little R&B vibe. Setting the mood for a relaxing but joyful good time full of laughs and family enjoyment. The women there were patient and attentive, letting me know that it was completely fine if I needed a minute, but then suggested I should make my own burger. Which I thought was a great idea! Mine had cheddar cheese, bacon, an egg, avocado, lettuce, tomato, and their fries sauce. I thought it was only right to make my own since that’s what Lalario stood for, creativity. My partner is a huge onion rink lover and wanted nothing more than to try the ultimate onion ring burger. Included were, onion rings (of course) grilled onions, swiss cheese, their fry sauce(to copy me), and bacon. He said it was amazing! Even with double onions, he expressed that the flavor was distinctively different. Tasting the grill and seasoning from one and the batter season on another made them easier to tell apart. I washed mine down with a vanilla milkshake, while my partner washed his down with Dr. Pepper.
An experience such as this one isn’t one that I come by often. Even with a busy lobby and two other restaurants on either side, this Lil Woody’s location stood out and stood proud to represent the name. Making its way in June will be their next location in Pioneer Square, make sure to follow their Instagram to learn more! Definitely will be going again and trying a new burger creation, maybe even one that I’ve seen from others! What would you put on your burger?
