CITY WILSON ‘ “BUZZIN’ IN MY CITY”
When City Wilson last met up with Seaspot, he was still in the middle of his final quarter of college, he was busy with some charitable efforts for children and vulnerable people and he was promoting his double-single, “Letter From The Lord” b/w “Buzzin’ In My City”.
Since August, the OG from Lacey, Washington and the East Tanglewilde neighborhood (north of Olympia and just south of Tacoma) has completed his Associates of Arts degree and is still participating in constructive community-based efforts and being productive for his own career. For those of us who know, this performance is impressive and worthy of recognition… City Wilson had, like many others, grown up in a challenging environment that saw him surrounded by drug, gang and outlaw culture – which he unfortunately became a victim of and he lost nearly half his life being incarcerated in state penitentiaries since he was about seventeen years of age.
Seaspot was on location to witness the love and respect that City gives and receives in his community, while taking steps to pursue what he is passionate about… His choices, his voice and his life. The video included a cross section of people from all walks of life in his community, all ethnic backgrounds and cultures and it was all love. Reminiscent of the ’92 Peace Treaty for those who observe and respect it still.
