Check out the flix from the annual Show and Shine Memorial Day Car Show event at Seward Park. While the event is no longer organized officially (i.e., with trophies), car clubs come from across the region to show off their best rides. Motorcycle Clubs have also joined in resulting in a full park. In addition to the cars and bikes, there is always plenty of BBQ, Music, and Dominoes to go around. The line to go up to the top of the park and around the loop took over an hour and that resulted in some confused and annoyed park visitors who might have been just coming to walk their dog or visit a trail. It was clear that they did NOT get the memo! However, if your purpose was to cruise thru going about 2 miles an hour with the top down and your music up, then it was just what you wanted.
The best part of this event, other than the amazing cars and beautiful people was that it was so peaceful! As in years past, this event has the right amount of “OG’s” who are out with the family along with carloads of younger folks ready to get lit but within all of that, it was ALL GOOD! However, there were plenty of loud voices and people argued over whose car was the best! The “oohs and ahhs” came from young and old as people cheered on the cars with hydraulics as they rolled thru and hit the “Switches” (When the car jumps up and down).
Regardless, if you came out to chill with the fam and throw something on the grill, or if you came to see whose DM you could slide in later, or if you came to show off your $200,000 investment, it was an amazing day to be in the park.
