Esperanza Spalding beat out the likes of Justin Bieber and Drake for this year's awards.

Esperanza a 26 year old singer, jazz bass player, and composer dropped her third  album "Chamber Music Society" in the summer of 2010.  Her performances for Stevie Wonder and Barack Obama along with her surprise win of a Grammy's Best New Artist has thrust this northwest girl to front of the music scene.
